1.) H&M just completely revamped their women’s sizing. Have you ever noticed inconsistencies in H&M’s sizing? I have- not just by item type but often by piece. This made online shopping (or “eyeball” shopping while hoisting two toddlers) a real gamble. The great news is that the clothing giant just took huge strides to eradicate that issue- they revamped their entire sizing philosophy in order to better meet the needs of the American women who just want to be confident about their size. Starting this summer and continuing into fall, H&M has switched the sizing up completely. On the whole, they say you should go one size down from your norm- if you usually buy Medium at H&M, you should go Small. However they encourage you to come try on a few items to learn your sizing according to the new policy, and they promise more consistency going forward. Yay!
2.) This is not necessarily “news news”, but it was news to me- and GREAT news at that. H&M is a part of an awesome recycling initiative that benefits your wallet- by donating your clothing in-store (not necessarily H&M clothing- literally any clothing), you get a 15% off discount on your purchase. As few as 3 items are accepted per visit, but you can certainly bring more in, and they’ll give you the discount right then and there. I love that there’s an element of sustainability and environmental consciousness that allows you to feel good about being a part of their mission while reaping the benefits on your purchase. Win-win.
