Here are five things I’ve been loving lately!
1.) This poncho thingy. What I love about it is that it ties, so it stays in place and defines your waist- two crucial things that most tops of this style don’t have! I have a bigger bust, so defining my waist is key in making me look like a woman and not a blob! 20% off when you sign up for emails!
2.) It’s always the husband. Another page turner, courtesy of my mama! She meant me this one before my trip last weekend and I read it cover to cover on the plane. It’s a story of three college friends who are very different- one of them dies and you spend the whole book trying to figure out how it happened. Great, easy read!
3.) A Star is Born. This movie floored me, meaning I kinda wanted to just take five and go sob on the floor at a few points. It was a beautifully portrayed love story and if you’re like me and always fantasized about being a pop star (except the whole zero musical talent obstacle) it’s bound to get you feeling all sorts of emo. Also, Bradley Cooper. Lady Gaga was phenomenal in this film but I will say I was a little disturbed at all the fillers she seemed to have put in her face- it made for a little bit less realness and authenticity in her character for me. The two of them had incredible chemistry. I would see this movie again in a heartbeat!
4.) Voting registration ends today for my fellow New Yorkers. You can register online, by mail or in person, but if you don’t get it done today, you’re not getting a chance to get your voice heard, period. Grab your driver’s license and spend four minutes on this website to make sure you have the option to get your voice heard.
5.) Togetherish Dad here. This soap is made locally in small batches right here in Beacon, NY. It’s made out of milk…somehow. I ran out of it this week and in lieu poured milk all over my body. Didn’t measure up! So now I leave it up to the alchemists that have figured out how to turn milk into soap. I was having breakouts on my back last year, and since I didn’t enjoy looking like a 15 year old with backne I started washing with this stuff. Alas, it went away! Not exactly an example of the scientific method at work (n=1), but still highly recommended.
Love the idea of a Friday Five! And I really enjoyed your voice!
