Hi friends!
Last weekend, Mike and Grayson spent the majority of our Sunday building this beautiful firefly house. It was Grayson’s vision and Mike just assisted him a bit with the execution (by operating the table saw and little stuff like that). Our family has been enjoying the pre-bedtime ritual of gently capturing and observing these pretty insects before releasing them back into the yard. Ahh, summer. It’s so good.
Here are five things I’ve been loving!
1.) This Bluetooth enabled speaker that blows all others away. If you’ve been operating on traditional Bluetooth speakers, you may not be aware of the sound quality difference of the SONOS. Ours is a little bigger than this one (we got it heavily discounted though and the full price is absurd), and I’m not sure how, but somehow it seems to fill a space entirely and no matter what room we have it positioned in in our downstairs area, the music is clear. SONOS is better.
2.) This hair mask was recommended by Allyson M, and I’ve been using it in the shower every 3 or so washes on the bottom 2/3 of my hair. I’ve noticed way more softness and less frizz! I did use it once on the roots which I wouldn’t recommend- my head was an actual grease pit.
Note: it’s not recommended to purchase Paul Mitchell products from Amazon. Hairdressers are cringing as they read this. I’m a rebel. Well really I’m just drawn to convenience. I have purchased fake products on Amazon by other brands in the past. Not Paul Mitchell. The one I got is legit, but I’m admitting that it was a risk. A risk this busy mom was willing to take for the sake of getting it delivered to my door within a day. No risk, no reward, right?
3.) This deodorant. I made the switch to natural deodorant this spring and I’ve tried out both Schmidt’s and Native, both of which I like. This scent is phenomenal while still subtle, and it really works.
4.) This lip conditioner that’s perfect for anywhere from no makeup to full face. So sheer and subtle, and ultimately hydrating, that it’s perfect for everything from the gym to nightlife (I mean I have no idea what nightlife means anymore but I think the word paints a picture that includes more makeup). The only gripe I have with a little pot like this is that after you apply it, you have slightly tinted gunk on the tip of your finger. Luckily it’s sheer enough that you can just rub it into the skin of your hand or arm and move on with your life.
5.) These bug houses. My boys are super into nature collections at this stage of life, and these bug houses are the perfect containers to throw in the stroller when we’re out and about. They also serve as safe houses for the bugs they see and want to observe, especially fireflies, which have been one of the highlights of our summer. The boys use their little bug houses to catch the fireflies and transfer them to their bigger house.
We’re looking at a HOT weekend ahead. If you can’t/won’t stay in A/C all weekend, make sure you’re equipped with LOTS of water and sunscreen!
