Friday Five is back, baby. After a long hiatus, I decided it’s time to tell you togetherish babes what I’ve been into lately. Without further ado, here are five things I’ve been loving!
1.) This show. Guys, have I been living under a rock or does nobody else know about this show either? I can’t stop binging. Every night, Mike gets Gray down to bed and asks me “Oh, my God, you’re still watching this show?” and I’m like “SHHHHHH” and so he sulks in a corner and watches Jeopardy on his phone. Kidding, we turn off GGTD and watch Jeopardy together (and keep score) because marriage is about compromise but I just wanted to trick you into thinking I am the true queen of my home for a hot second. Anyway, I love all the characters in this order: Abby, Phoebe, Delia, and I love both Jake and Will equally (which has proved excruciating as Abby is currently in the middle of a very confusing love triangle with the two of them). I’ve cried more than once from this show. Also, the fashion is so good. No spoilers because I’m only on Season Two of Five. But yes. Watch.
2.) This “diet vodka” mixed with seltzer is the ultimate easy-peasy summer cocktail. It has a lower calorie count and alcohol content than traditional vodka. Throw it in a wine glass with pretty garnishes to make yourself feel fancy. This is a great hostess gift because it’s pretty, so it looks less aggressive than a regular bottle of vodka and it’s a less obvious gift than a bottle of wine. The available flavors are Grapefruit + Rose, Peach + Orange Blossom and Cucumber + Mint. I’ve found these to be a crowd pleaser with both genders.
3.) My summer tanning regime. Obviously with my melasma, my summer glow has nothing to do with actual sun touching my skin, so I have to spend my efforts simultaneously avoiding the sun and trying to convince people that I’ve not been doing so. It’s an exhausting first world problem, you guys. I’ve been using this on my face and this on my body and I’m loving the easy, natural looking tan I can achieve. With the face drops, I mix three into my moisturizer every couple days. For the body stuff, I use it every shower. It’s super subtle- so subtle that Mr. Togetherish has tested it out and deemed it useless– but I am completely paranoid about looking orange (or looking like a girl who uses self tanner), so it’s a good fit for me. Also, no glove. Also, no stains. Also, no need to apply lotion to moisturize after the shower. Also, Mr. Togetherish doesn’t even have melasma. So what does he know.
5.) These shorts. I own both the olive and blush colors, and coupled with a bodysuit and sandals, this ensemble has organically morphed into my weekday summer uniform. They feel like pajamas, you guys. They’re lightweight and don’t get super wrinkled the way most linen does when you take them right out of thy dryer and fold them (if you let them sit in the purgatory pile for three days though, you’re on your own- or just use this). I like that they have a similar look to the popular “paper bag” shorts we keep seeing but they don’t require you to have an itty bitty waist in order to wear them because the ruffled waist not exaggerated.
Hope everyone is looking forward to a beautiful weekend! We actually have a low-key one ahead which I am thrilled about- I think it’s our only chill weekend through September. As much as the parties and trips are in summertime, a weekend of just hanging around the house with my guys is very much in order. Happy Friday!
